Most of my professional career, I’ve spent a lot of time traveling from place to place. At my previous job, I pretty much traveled 80% of my time. Many young professionals today spend hours and days traveling across states or countries, and with that come specific traveling fashion etiquette. We all know traveling can be very hectic and tiring, but that doesn’t mean you should walk around looking how you’re feeling! How else are you going to meet that one you will have that fun little long distance romance, a la George Clooneyway?! Not happening, if you’re looking at your worse!

If you’re one of those that is constantly traveling for work,  and like to jet-set in style, here are a few little suggestions that will add points to your stylish jet-setting credibility:

  • Stay in the KNOW: Every fashion forward and on-the-go person should buy an i-Pad PRONTO. This is a tool that has completely changed the way traveling can be.  A smart phone is also a MUST have, whether a blackberry or i-Phone. This is a staple piece that every forward thinking and creative person should own.  How else will you tweet while on the go?

  • Dress Chic but COMFORTABLE: I am one that hates to travel uncomfortable, therefore my go-to pieces are tight/ jeans, long crisscross tank tops with a cardigan or jacket,  paired  with flats or wedges. I used to travel in heels, till I realized that running to get to the gate on time is not the best feeling when wearing heels. You can dress it up or dress it down by the selection of jackets or sweaters you match it with. If you are running to a meeting, simply tuck away a dress and suit jacket on carry on and you can quickly switch before the meeting.

  • Roll up in full STYLE: A suitcase is a jet-setter’s LIFE! Therefore, a good suitcase and any carry on is key. Since nowadays, once is only allowed two bags, I always carry my Balenciaga and a messenger bag, in addition to my suitcase (if I’m going for more than a week). Because Balenciaga’s leather is so soft and distressed, it can easily be stored into another bag before you roll up to the gate. Tuck it into the other bag. And success! You are compromising in style, till you get to the other side! :)
